QUESTION 1: Do you think you would read another book by this author? Why or why not?
RESPONSE 1: I believe that I would definitely read another book by author D.J. Machale. This is because the way he writes is very exciting and makes you want to keep reading. I usually don't like to read books, but I couldn't put this book down! I loved the heroes and their adventures and the way they are able to solve problems even at the last moment. I had really gotten into the story when I believed that some of the main characters were going to be in trouble, when they had actually already solved the problem! The way the author revealed that they had already solved the problem, and how they had actually solved the problem a long time ago.
Not only does the author do a really go job of making me want to read more and more from him, he has also continued the series already! I am very eager to read what other adventures await the main character and his friends. I am also very excited to see what happens on FIRST Earth, and how and it's called First Earth. I can't wait to see when and where First Earth actually takes place. I really want to see how the main characters defeat a character like Saint Dane. I can't really understand why they can't figure out when it's really Saint Dane in a changed form and I can. I can't wait to see if they finally can recognise him as well as I can.
QUESTION 2: How is a character in your book similar to a character in another book, story, or movie?
RESPONSE 2: I think the main character is actually very close to Harry Potter. Bobby Pendragon, the main character was a normal boy who lived a normal life in good old normal suburbia. They both were boys who lived in a normal life who didn't know about the whole cosmic plot around them. They both were also called into that cosmic world by a certain person, like Uncle Press and Hagrid, and were believed to help save another kind of world. Harry went from a Muggle to a Wizard, and Bobby went from a normal human to a Traveler. They both were made into a savior. They may have been hesitative at first, but became wrapped into the magical world.
They were both people who were trying to make their way through normal life, but were eventually pulled into a great adventure. Harry Potter may not have been treated as well as Bobby was, but they didn't start off as mythical do-gooders. They were just normal people. Not only are they alike in that way, but they are also even close in age. They're both around 15, atleast in their mid-teens. If Harry Potter was a little bit cooler in his real life, they would almost be mirror images in different stories.
